Study Tips for College Students:

  • Studying in alternative study spaces is a more effective way to retain information. Memory is colored by location, and changing study locations increases the likeliness that you will remember the material.

  • Studying with peers is a good way to reduce the workload and to make sure you understand the material.

  • Flash cards are a great way to use mnemonic devices and associative phrases.

  • Consistent testing can help us to relearn and to recall information

  • Sleep

  • Don’t categorize yourself as right-brained and left-brained or visual and auditory. Just figure out what study strategies work for you.

  • Go to class.

  • Switch between a few related topics, rather than immersing yourself in one subject.

  • Manage your time, so that you don’t miss any deadlines.
